Artist Statement
My artwork is inspired by the works of the 16th and 17th century, ranging from the high Renaissance to the Baroque, along with mythology, fantasy, and Surrealism.
I create classical style paintings with an airbrush; an unconventional pen-like tool that uses a compressor to spray a line as thin as a hair or as thick as 2 inches.
I am particularly interested in the play between dark and light, (CHAROSCURO), a technique I try to implement in all my paintings along with trompe-l’oeil.
By using a non-traditional medium I am able to depict traditional style paintings, merging the past with the present.
